I’ve been playin’ my daddy’s old guitar since I was seventeen I’ve been playin’ my daddy’s old guitar since I was seventeen Till I got a new guitar when I was just eighteen For over 30 years the strings have never been replaced For over 30 years the strings have never been replaced When some strings got snapped out, my daddy fixed it with some screws and nails (Ouch!) I wrote my first blues songs when I was just 14 years old I wrote my first blues songs when I was just 14 years old But I had no confidence to play them in front the crowd. (that's how) My mother always wanted me to play some classical tunes Yes, my mother always wanted me to play those classical tunes But ever since she heard me playin’ the guitar, she said : “Son ! you better sing the blues !” I haven’t touched my daddy’s old guitar for long long years Yes, I haven’t touched my daddy’s old guitar for long long years Well now I feel that the time has come to fix it and to replace the strings Well, I turned my daddy’s old Russian guitar into a big blues machine Yes, I turned my daddy’s old Russian guitar into a big blues machine And I’ll keep playin’ on my daddy’s old guitar for years and years !

Down in Netanya, where the news are sometimes bad I’m eating "Hummus Uzi" and I feel a little sad Instead of sitting in my room and crying like a jerk Maybe I should go to Tel Aviv after work To buy some vinyl records and to meet new friends But above all, not forgetting the place I used to stand. Well , I never used to walk in Tel Aviv all alone You know, once I was depressed and then again I was born I was born to be free, I was born to be wild I was born to be grown and sometimes act like a child I was born to sing the blues all over the land About the same place that I used to stand. Well, I’m not smoking at all but I love drinking beers I love good guitar music, it definitely gives me chills ! Suddenly, one lady told me, after I snoozed She said : “Hey you, with the bottle of beer, come here and try to sing the blues ! There’s a stage with a mic, so go now and take your stand And sing that blues about the place you used to stand Well, I’m coming from the grunge, I’m coming from the punk I’m trying to keep cool and I ain’t messin’ with junk Even a punk & grunge boy can try to sing the blues You know. it ain’t a damn shame and I got nothin’ left to loose Well, It’s never to late in my age to try new brands And still sing that blues about the place I used to stand..

Riding on to Haifa, really in the mood To see the show of the queen preaching the blues I parked my car as close as could to the rest-o-bar When suddenly I saw that my shoes were torn apart. I felt like a homeless man, walking barefoot on the street I felt like a beggar, feeling cold on my feet But instead of begging, maybe I’ll use Just a paper and a pen to write my "Out of luck Blues" The next day I woke up, it’s just a typical day I worked my seven hours, everything is OK And then I went to the studio, to record my own songs When suddenly, I started feeling bad and I caught a cold I went to the kitchen, put some lemon in my tea And I took my old paper and pen and immediately Wrote another few lines - You know, there's no excuse To stop writing my "Out of luck Blues" I'm not that lucky With my shoes torn apart and a horrible cold I’m standing here in front of you all. I say, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to my brand new, very own "Out Of Luck Blues"

If you think I'm angry, well, I'm not angry at all. Our ways have been separated, now I feel so alone. But I'd never wish you suffering; you meant a lot to me, that's all But even if I'm angry, it's only with two men. One is very close to me, the other one is just a fake friend I can't be angry with anybody else, I'm telling you, I got so much love to give I've got no right to enter your mind and to read your thoughts And I've got no right to talk about you behind your back But even if many years pass before you stand in front of me My heart will be open for you

Ever since I remember myself, I always used to be a curious guy Well, I tried a lot of things, some went well and some did not But it never stopped me from doing what I really really wanted. So, I lost my dear mother and some of my good friends. And I always used to think that my dreams are coming to an end, just like that.. But now I understand that nothing is over yet.. without a doubt And although I had some hard times, I will never, never , never give up No, no.. I’m still digging to know other secrets about facts of life And I hope that maybe I will find new friends.. Those damn childish days are dead and gone, oh yea My time has come to shine and I will never, never ever give up ! Woah, no no no no ! My time has come to shine and I will never, ever, ever give up ! No, I will never give up ! No, no
